Agreement establishes Hitachi Metals-Oxford UTC of Metallurgy

Hitachi Metals Limited has just announced an agreement with the University of Oxford to form a University Technology Centre (UTC) working principally with Professor Roger Reed.

From 1 January 2020 Hitachi Metals and Oxford University have formed the "Hitachi Metals - Oxford UTC of Metallurgy", to research amorphous ribbon and superalloys. Senior delegates from Hitachi, including Dr Sato Koji, the President and Chief Executive Officer (pictured below, far right) and Executive Officer Dr Masato Hasegawa, visited the department on 20 January to formally sign the agreement. As pictured below, they were greeted by Professor Roger Reed, Professor Angus Wilkinson (Head of Department) and Professor Patrick Grant (Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research).
