Over a decade of experience researching materials for energy generation and storage. This ranges from work on nuclear fuels (https://www.seh.ox.ac.uk/news/improving-fission-fuels) to cutting edge solid state batteries (https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/2515-7655/ab95f4/meta) and many things in between.
Expertise in advanced characterisation via electron microscopy, micro-mechanics, and x-ray techniques.
Throughout my time in Oxford I have also worked to improve research culture across the university. Working with OxRSS and Prof David Gavaghan to help formalise staff representation in the university leading to the formation of the researcher hub and sitting on the inaugural Research Staff Consultancy Group. This work and his time on the Research and Innovation Committee gave me a strong understanding of the way the university works as well as connections to structures that allowed me to truly representing all staff as the Research Staff representative on the 2022 Oxford Vice-Chancellor Selection Committee, the 2025 Oxford Chancellor Election Committee, and the University Council for the academic year 2024-2025.
