I am interested in understanding the structure-property relationships in novel functional materials using atomic resolution electron imaging. I develop techniques for transmission electron microscopy imaging at low dose and low energy to enable the study of samples which easily damage under the incident electron beam . These techniques allow me to investigate a wide variety of materials including metal-organic frameworks, zeolites, metal halide perovskites and low dimensional materials.
I'm Principal Scientist at the electron Physical Science Imaging Centre (ePSIC), a national user facility for aberration corrected transmission electron microscopy based at Diamond Light Source. More information can be found on the ePSIC website.
